Banking and Financial Institutions (BFID) is a division of the DOA. Their mission is to protect the public by regulating the business of state chartered and licensed financial institutions under its supervision. The division is committed to preserve and promote: sound and constructive competition among financial institutions; the dual federal and state banking system, and the security of deposits. The Division seeks regulatory coordination and cooperation as well as regulatory parity among financial services institutions while encouraging diversity in financial products and services.

We are looking for a new Bank Examiner Trainee to work out of Billings . Do you thrive tackling a new challenge and know the true value of teamwork? This position works as an integral part of our examination team to evaluate the operational activities of banks. Duties involve gathering and analyzing data used to assess the overall financial and operational condition of the bank and adherence with applicable laws and regulations. You would be analyzing numbers and trends, and doing a fair share of technical writing.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, banking, finance, accounting or a related field with experience preferred in banking.

    Note: Other combinations of education and experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.


Competencies:

Knowledge of:

  • The principles and practices associated with banking, business administration, accounting and auditing.

Ability to:

  • Set priorities and manage time effectively;

  • Analyze numbers and trends;

  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing;

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;

  • Continually grow and learn;

  • Operate a personal computer and general office equipment.
