SPECIAL INFORMATION:

• An employee new to the Judicial Branch will serve a one-year probationary period.
• The successful applicant will be subject to a background check, including the Child Protection Services & Nurses registry.
• Working hours may include evenings & weekends

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful applicant is responsible for the implementation and management of the Youth Court Act within the 7th Judicial District. This includes the management of juvenile probation officers, clerical staff and others. The chief probation officer manages staff, the budget and programs. The successful applicant must have the ability to work with a variety of partners including law enforcement, correctional staff and child protection services. The ability to develop creative programs to meet the needs of the community is crucial. Extensive knowledge of and experience with youth and families at risk is needed.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

The minimum qualifications are a Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences, or Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral sciences and one-year of probation related experience or an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree and three years of probation related experience. Preference will be given to applicants with at least three years of staff supervision experience and/or the completion of a career development/management development program.
