DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is the Fiscal data coordinator for contract beds for adult and juvenile offenders in the state system. Allocates funding for room and board for offenders in prerelease centers, county jails and juvenile detention centers. Position is responsible for computing the average daily population (ADP) for all prerelease centers, ensuring the Division Administrator is apprised of population information. Responsible for processing payments to medical providers for authorized outside inmate medical expenditures. Analyzes and verifies data from OMIS system to ensure accuracy in ADP counts. Reviews county detention and prerelease center contracts before annual renewal, and gives recommendations to streamline the billing process to the Contracts Manager. Responds to requests from the public, Department staff, and other agency personnel concerning payments to vendors. Position is the primary contact with Accounting staff for County Sherriff’s Offices, regional and private prisons, and prerelease center staff.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 2 year job-related college or vocational in Accounting or related field and 1 to 2 years of job-related work experience. Requires knowledge of computer networks, software, and equipment; advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word, complete knowledge of accounting principles and techniques as related to state government, specialized knowledge and training of the automated SABHRS financial system regarding general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
