Elections Specialist
The mission of the Office of the Secretary of State is to help commerce thrive, promote democracy, and to record history for future generations.
This position serves as an elections administration specialist and reports to the Elections and Voter Services Manager. This position is responsible for administration and oversight of assigned Federal and State election programs and systems areas.
Elections Program Planning and Oversight

Facilitates uniformity and compliance for local and statewide elections for assigned election program and system areas. -
Gives intelligent and prompt information and guidance concerning assigned elections process and system areas. -
Develops and administers election training and information for the public, election officials, and government agencies for assigned areas. -
Aids and educates election officials with election laws, procedures, and policies for assigned areas as needed. -
Researches comparable practices and programs for assigned areas in other states. Evaluates options, alternative, and best practices to potentially adopt for assigned areas. -
Monitors assigned program and system areas for compliance with federal, state, and other laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
Election Systems Support, Management, and Technical Assistance

Provides technical knowledge and professional guidance for assigned election programs and systems. This may include resolving technical problems and providing technical support for end-users. -
Identifies technical issues with assigned election systems and partners with IT staff, third-party vendors, and county election officials to implement system solutions as required. -
Analyzes and develops policies, rules, and best practices for the assigned system. -
Collaborates with IT staff and vendors to ensure the integrity and functionality of the assigned election systems. -
Provides training and information on assigned system procedures and best practices. -
Administers planning, scheduling, and conducting testing of elections systems in assigned area. Recommends solutions, monitors system use, and researches new and upcoming technologies for assigned system area.
Qualifications:
Education
A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, Law degree, or a field related to Elections Management.
Experience
3-4 years of relative work experience
