The Montana Department of Revenue administers approximately 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor laws, and unclaimed property for the State of Montana.

Duties
The Alcohol Beverage Licensing and Compliance Specialist evaluates alcohol beverage license documentation and applicants to approve or deny applications for the manufacture, distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages; monitors liquor license compliance; and administers program operations and support services to facilitate and document liquor licensing and compliance monitoring activities. The position reports to the Alcohol Beverage Licensing Unit Manager and does not supervise other staff.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience
The required knowledge and competencies are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field and one year of job-related work experience. Work experience should be made up of compliance or licensing, procurement and contract administration, or program administration. Other combinations of relevant education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis. It is important that all previous work experience is listed.
This position does not require any postsecondary education – however, if you have documented graduation and a college degree please attach your transcripts.
