Job Overview: The License Permit Technician position provides direct and technical services for the Montana Medical Marijuana Program within the Program Support Bureau of the Quality Assurance Division. Responsibilities include processing applications and renewals for patients and providers; entering and updating information into the registry database; responding to in-person and telephone inquiries regarding the program; and generating correspondence and reports.
Major Duties or Responsibilities:
Montana Marijuana Program Support
• Provide technical assistance to applicants to comply with Montana Marijuana Act requirements.
• Process applications and fees for potential cardholders and providers.
• Verify that certifying physician is licensed to practice in Montana and is MD or DO.
• Enter and update marijuana registry database with cardholder, provider, fee, and physician information as needed.
• Responsible for generating various correspondence letters, registry cards, and monthly mailings.
• Respond to in-person and telephone inquiries from the public, cardholders, providers, and law enforcement regarding Montana Marijuana Program.
• Generate and distribute bi-weekly and monthly reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
This position works in an office setting with a substantial amount of time sitting and using a keyboard. This position may be lifting office supplies and materials, not to exceed 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
Required Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of job-related work experience
- Considerable experience using Excel and MS Suite is preferred.
- Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case by case basis.
